D-Link Access Point admin

by

Today I had the need to see what was going on with a D-Link Access Point. However the web interface was down. It would simply load a blank page.

Considering I wasn’t at the physical location this would mean getting someone to unplug and plug in the AP. Not good.

So I found that you can access the AP via a command prompt. Simply use Telnet to get into the box.

I downloaded PuTTY ( http://www.putty.org ) and selected telnet as the method for communication (SSH didn’t work). Once connected I simply used the admin/password I had setup and I was in.

If you want a massively long list of commands then type “?” but if you just want to reboot the sucker type in “reboot” and away you go.
