Bitlocker being annoying?

April 5, 2012

Well I ran into this for the first time where I had installed Bitlocker and every time I rebooted the machine is asked me for the key again. Sheesh talk about annoying.
Anyway, this is how you fix it;
1.  Boot up (type in your key for the zillionth time)
2.  Go to Control Panel then BitLocker Drive Encryption
3.  Click Suspend Protection
4.  Click Enable Protection

Et Voila.

GRE protocol 47 sound familiar? Oh you should unblock 1723? Well ppfft duh.
OK this has been going around and around in my world for a long time and honestly you know the fix? For me, anyway, don’t buy Linksys/low-end Cisco routers!
Time and time again, if I swap out the router for a Netgear, D-Link, Trendnet.
I have tried to update the firmware on the Linksys routers but it doesn’t make any difference. It just doesn’t work well with PPTP.

Logmein – “Your input is being blocked”

April 2, 2012

So this message freaked me out when I tried to connect to a server today. My initial thought was “Hackers!” but no, nothing so exciting. Turns out that it was someone leaning the keyboard of the server against a wall so it was pressing one of the keys…

The fix for remote access was to disable the host keyboard and mouse from within Logmein.
Just go to;
Check the “Lock keyboard” option

This worked for me and I was able to resume duties 🙂
