Windows backup fails (with error code 2155348010)

May 29, 2014

This was maddening because I would reformat the drive with different block sizes and it would still fail! No matter how I formatted the drive it would always fail.

In the end I found this article;

Basically Download the WD Quick Format Tool from here –

Extract it and run it.

Format the drive as the most compatible. NOT XP mode.

That’s it my friends. Job solved. Windows backups working.

Factory Reset for HP LaserJet M401

May 26, 2014

Man, this was a pain. I searched all over the Internet for a solution and almost all of the options were irrelevant. Such as, oh you want to reset the printer? Just go into the system menu and choose reset to factory settings. This woul dbe helpful if I wasn’t locked out of the printer due to someone putting a password on the printer! (Who does that anyway?)

So here’s the fix before I continue my rant….

  • Power off the printer.
  • Hold the RIGHT ARROW button + the CANCEL X button.
  • Power on the printer.
  • Hold those buttons down until you see see the resetting system and then release.
  • That’s it.

Deleted a distribution list?

May 14, 2014

Yeah it’s annoying because you highlight that one member of the distribution list and hit delete. Does it delete that member? Noooo don’t be silly, it will delete the entire distribution list of course!

Don’t panic! Simply go to Trash (or Deleted Items) and it should be there. Right click on it and move it to a folder. Choose your Address book and you’re back in business.

Thanks Microsoft 🙂

An internal support function returned an error. Outlook

I had this issue today and figured I’d probably never see it again so I’ll post it here.

The problem is caused by two named entries in the distribution list having the same name. Strange but true.

The resolution? You guessed it. Rename one of the members of that Distro list to something unique for that list and the problem goes away.

Simple fix.
